Dressed for the country in practical jeans, jumper, and rubber boots, she steps boldly into the rich brown clay, rapidly sinking to the tops of her boots, and then slowly succumbs to the lure of the mud, kneeling, sitting, slithering, and finally lying face-down in the soft embrace of the riverbank.
